How to add a price calculator to a WordPress site
Last updated October 11, 2026
Use a form plugin that can do the math, or embed a form that can: WPForms with its Calculations addon, Gravity Forms with a calculated Number field, the Calculated Fields Form plugin, or a Wunderly form with its estimate block, which is free.
Facts checked on October 11, 2026, each against its source. Every number links to where it came from.
The options
WPForms
Calculations are an addon that needs the WPForms Pro license or higher.3 Saving the entries of people who leave partway is the Form Abandonment addon, also Pro or higher.4
Gravity Forms
Calculations work in a Number field with Enable Calculation ticked.5 The cheapest license, Basic, is $59 a year.6 Saving incomplete entries is the Partial Entries add-on, with an Elite or Nonprofit license7 (Elite is $259 a year6).
Calculated Fields Form
A plugin on wordpress.org with 40,000+ active installations. Its free version includes basic calculation operations and conditional logic; paid versions add more.8
A Wunderly form
The estimate block works out a price as people answer, from a price for each option or a formula like square feet times your rate, and it's free (how it works). The email ask comes after the price. Your leak page then lists everyone who got a price, left an email and didn't get in touch; one reminder to them is Pro, $29 a month10.
Putting it on a page
- With a plugin: the plugin's own block, or its shortcode in a Shortcode block (type /shortcode in the editor)2. The Wunderly plugin needs WordPress 6.0 and PHP 7.4 or later.9
- With one line of code: add a Custom HTML block (type /html) and paste the code1. WordPress removes script tags from it for users who can't post unfiltered HTML, such as Contributors1, so add it as an Administrator or Editor.
What to look for
- The price shows before the form asks for an email, not after.
- It says it's an estimate, and what it was worked out from.
- It doesn't break on odd answers: a blank or a zero shouldn't show a wrong price.
- You can see who priced and didn't get in touch, not only who sent the form.
